About Pottery Place Plus
One of the treasures to be found in Spokane, Washington is Pottery Place Plus, an artist cooperative mixed media art gallery that features fine arts and crafts, made by local artists from the Spokane area. Pottery Place Plus opened in 1978 during the cultural and artistic revival that followed the 1974 World’s Fair held in Spokane, making it one of the longest running fine artist cooperatives in the Pacific Northwest.
Started by a group of energetic potters looking for a better way to market their craft, within a few years the cooperative expanded to include other art media. In addition to pottery the gallery offers works in blown, fused, stained glass, fiber arts, and a wide selection of jewelry, as well as handmade candles and bath products. Two-dimensional works include photography that features images of Spokane and the surrounding countryside; oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings; and mixed media.
The cooperative is housed in the downtown historic Liberty Building, an over 110-year-old landmark that is listed on the National Historic Register. Located very near to the Spokane Convention Center, INB Performing Arts Center, and Davenport Grand Hotel; Pottery Place Plus is the ideal place to shop for a unique, locally handcrafted gift or a remembrance of a visit to Spokane.
The members of Pottery Place Plus thank the many community residents and visitors who have found their way to our gallery. As a cooperative of local artists, we invite all to share our love for the quality and beauty to be found in hand-made art. We would not have prospered for so long without the many loyal customers who have supported us over the years and who value the local art that we sell.
