I first fell in love with the art of calligraphy in fifth grade when I
received my first set of pens. From that time on I’ve loved to see
beautiful letters on beautiful paper. In 1995 I graduated from the
University of Iowa with a Fine Arts degree. In 2005 I began to study
calligraphy more seriously as I took classes, read books, and lettered
whenever I had a free minute. I also had an apprenticeship with
calligrapher, Holly Monroe in Cincinnati, OH. In 2009 I started Bridget
Smith Calligraphy.
I have taught at The Corbin Arts Center and have items
available at the Pottery Place Plus, both located in Spokane, WA.
I enjoy lettering meaningful poems and verses, wedding invitations,
birth announcements and designing greeting cards. My art is available as
originals, prints of my original designs, greeting cards, calendars and
decorated journals.
